CARAMONDANI DESALINATION PLANTS LTD
ACQUIRES 100% OF THE SHARE CAPITAL
OF OSMO SISTEM SRL OF FANO - ITALY
Following a pre-agreement with the group of A&G MONTANARI of Fano, Italy, 28% share holders in the above company, the Board of Directors of Caramondani Desalination Plants Ltd decided to approve the purchase of these shares.
On May 20, 2008 at the Annual General Meeting of the company in Fano, the take over agreement was approved.
As a result of the above Mr Marco Nava resigned as Director and Mr Stavros Caramondanis Jr. was elected in his place.
The purchase was decided with the explicit target to increase sales by penetrating the water desalination business in more European countries, the Middle East and China.

Following the resignation of Mr Stavros Y. DHEKELIA DESALINATION PLANT
The 20-YEAR BOOT contract for the complete refurbishment and operation of the Dhekelia desalination plant has been awarded to our company who was the lowest bidder as a result of an international tender invited by the Government of Cyprus.Eventually only four bidders participated. The contract was signed on Sept 30, 2005.FINALLY THE PLANT WAS COMMISSIONED ON MAY 5, 2007.

NEW EXTENTION TO DHEKELIA DESALINATION PLANT WHICH NOW BECOMES 60.000 M3/DAY
|
|
|
Due to the very long and extensive drought experienced in Cyprus during 2006 & 2007 the government of Cyprus negotiated the extention of the plant by 20.000 M3/DAY bringing the total plant to 60.000 M3/DAY. This will take place in two stages: a) by end of June 2008 10.000M3 and b) by March 2009 another 10.000 M3/DAY. All other parameters remain as the original contract but we have to deliver the product water via a 600mm ductile iron pipeline 7 km long to a connection point.
The first extra 10,000m³ were delivered in mid July 2008 and the plant is now running at 50,000m³/Day. The majority of works for the remaining 10,000m³/Day are expected to be finished early 2008 having now completed the majority of the civil works and the laying of the 7KM Ö 600mm ductile iron pipe. It will be up the government to allow a full stoppage of the plant next March 2009 in order to reach a production rate of 60,000m/Day by April 1, 2009.

THE AYIA NAPA 600 BERTHS MARINA ON THE MOVE AGAIN:
Six years after submitting the first competitive tender in June 2003, the MAKRONISOS MARINA CONSORTIUM, formed by G. CARAMONDANIS INVESTMENTS and others, have received on October 2, 2009, a letter from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of the Cyprus Republic, to submit a final tender by January 18, 2010, with the intention of the Government to finalise negotiations for this single tender contract and with a possible award before June 2010.
